The Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peeling System is a specialised professional treatment that encourages the controlled exfoliation of surface skin cells, revealing fresher-looking skin as the peeling process progresses.

The formulation includes resorcinol and salicylic acid, with the complete peel formulation and application protocol determined by the Elaine Brennan system.

It is designed to improve the appearance of pigmentation, uneven skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles and rough skin texture. Your results will depend on your individual skin concerns, suitability and response to treatment.

This treatment may be suitable for a range of skin types and tones, subject to an individual assessment. However, suitability for this intensive peel cannot be determined by skin type alone.

During your consultation, we'll discuss your skin concerns, medical history, current skincare routine, sensitivities and ability to follow the aftercare requirements.

This treatment is not suitable if you:

• Are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant.
• Have an allergy to aspirin or salicylates.
• Have an allergy to resorcinol, an ingredient commonly found in some hair dyes.

Additional medical conditions, medications, active skin infections, cold sores, recent procedures and other factors may affect your suitability. These will need to be assessed before treatment.

You'll also need to be prepared for the visible peeling process, keep your face, neck and hair dry throughout the prescribed peeling period, avoid strenuous exercise and follow the full sun-protection protocol.

The work you do at home is an important part of your skin-renewal journey. Your Elaine Brennan program includes over $500 worth of prescribed homecare, selected to support your skin throughout the treatment and recovery process.

Your homecare program will include:

• Products prescribed for use during the peeling phase.
• Products to support hydration and skin comfort during recovery.
• SPF 50 sunscreen as part of your post-peel skincare regime, introduced according to your therapist's instructions.
• Personalised guidance on how to care for your skin at each stage.

You'll also receive the protective items required during the peeling period, including a broad-brimmed hat, sunglasses and face scarf. We don't want you left wondering what to use or how to care for your skin. We'll guide you through the process so you feel supported from your first appointment through to your recovery.

 Your skin will be particularly vulnerable following this treatment, making sun protection one of the most important parts of your aftercare. During the peeling phase, you must avoid direct sun exposure and wear your supplied hat, sunglasses and face scarf whenever leaving the house or driving. Following your Day 8 peel-off appointment, you must continue to avoid direct sun exposure for at least three weeks, in accordance with your prescribed protocol.

Sun protection does not end after three weeks. The manufacturer's published guidance recommends continued sunblock use for a minimum of two months after peeling, and some provider protocols recommend longer. Your therapist will advise you on the appropriate ongoing precautions for your skin. Your SPF 50 sunscreen will form part of your post-peel homecare regime and must be introduced at the stage specified by your therapist.

Your aftercare instructions must be followed carefully. This includes using only the prescribed products, avoiding premature removal of peeling skin and following guidance on when to resume your usual skincare routine.
