 HOW IT WORKS?

Layers of dead skin cells are exfoliated in a safe and controlled way and are replaced with skin that is more supple, elastic and firmer, with a smoother texture and stable moisture balance.

The peel delivers a deep, reliable exfoliation of the skin with no destruction of the skin cells.

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive therapeutic technique that uses non-ionizing ultrasonic waves to heat tissue. It uses ultrasound energy to encourage the production of collagen, which results in firmer skin.

What does it do to the skin?

Who is this not suitable for?

Those on or have just finished photosensitive medications such as roaccutance/antibiotics; less than equal to 4 weeks for antibiotics and less than equal to 6 months for roaccutane (isotretinoin medications), have an autoimmune disorder, have extremely sensitive skin, have an active coldsores, those who have rosacea, dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema.

How it works

HIFU uses concentrated ultrasound energy to the face and neck by a handheld device.  it is a non-invasive treatment that helps stimulates the cells, resulting in tissue rejuvenation and collagen production. The overall effect of the treatment is to promote tightening and lifting of the skin in these areas. A HIFU treatment can help stimulate tissue rejuvenation and collagen production – resulting in the tightening and lifting of saggy skin. As a skin rejuvenating procedure, HIFU can help lift and tighten the neck, chin and brow, and improve lines and wrinkles on the chest.

Collagen production is expected to reach its optimum level three to nine months. it is during this period that a patient can already see her facial skin becoming younger-looking, healthier, softer, and supple.

What to expect

A conduction gel is applied onto the face, client should experience prickles underneath the skin through the high intense frequency ultrasound. After the procedure the face may be lightly flushed for a few hours due to an abundance of collagen being produced. Some people describe it as tiny electric pulses or a light prickly sensation.

Downtime: None!  You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take.

Aftercare: Wear SPF30+ 21 days post procedure. Do not touch, scratch, rub, irritate your skin at all after this procedure. 

Do not use any other skin products besides the aftercare post procedure. Do not undergo any other skin/laser hair removal procedures 4 weeks post procedure. Mineral foundation is recommended the day after procedure until the skin starts to regenerate (feels back to normal). Other makeup can only be used 2 weeks post procedure. Do not start taking any antibiotics or photosensitive medications such as roaccutane for 4 weeks post treatment. Males cannot shave for 2 weeks post procedure. 

Side Effects

There are minimal side effects of HIFU however, some slight redness or swelling may occur, but it should subside quickly. A light tingling sensation/ temporary numbness of the treated area may persist for a few weeks. Possible hyper pigmentation if sunscreen is not worn post procedure as directed.

Of course HIFU isn’t a miracle cure for aging. The procedure is best suited for patients with mild-to-moderate skin laxity, and you may need to have the procedure repeated in one to two years as the natural aging process takes over.

If you’re older with more severe skin sagging and wrinkles, HIFU may not be able to eliminate these skin issues.
